The HBCU Admissions Challenge

What does it really take to get into a Historically Black Colleges and University (HBCU)—and earn scholarships along the way?

An interactive role play experience will put students into the shoes of admissions officers to evaluate mock applications and make tough decisions about who gets admitted, who earns scholarships, and why.

Inspired by real admissions practices and trends across HBCUs, this activity shows students that colleges look at the whole person—not just test scores and GPAs.

They’ll see firsthand how leadership, financial readiness, application errors, and extracurriculars can tip the scales.
